The Tanglewood Heritage features a dreadnought body shape, providing a well-balanced tone, and great volume projection. The dreadnought shape was originally designed for hard pick attack, however the Heritage can handle many different genres and styles of play with equal ease. The big body is ideal for players with a longer reach, and those more comfortable with the dreadnought's curvaceous size. The sheer volume the Heritage can project makes it ideal for the singer/songwriter, as vocalists can really push their diaphragm to the max and not feel too loud against the guitar's volume; it will sing as loud as you do.
The Tanglewood Heritage features a stunning solid spruce top that produces a broad dynamic range and crisp articulation. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a dynamic tonal pallet and accommodates numerous playing techniques. The wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm midi-range, and bright articulate highs. This is balanced out well by the mahogany back and sides, as mahogany is denser and produces a richer tone, with emphasised warmth in the mid and low ranges. The mahogany back and sides offer a rich characterised warmth, and is well-balanced with a bite of its own. Mahogany is used a lot in the acoustic world, because it is relatively economical, durable, attractive, easy to work with, and resonant.
The Heritage neck is made from mahogany because the wood responds greatly to picking, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease. The mahogany neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that provides a very responsive bright, snappy, and crisp attack, coupled with a smooth sustain and bright top-end. In addition to its superb tone, the Heritage features a one piece volute neck construction, this prevents the guitar from breaking at the weakest point. The Heritage is finished in natural gloss, and sprinkled with slot-diamond fingerboard markers, inlaid in abalone for added elegance and stunning appearance.
The Tanglewood Heritage comes equipped with a Fishman Presys Blend, providing an on-board preamp with built-in tuner for precise and easy tuning. The compact system features volume, bass, mid, treble, notch, and mic blend rotary controls. In addition to these features the Presys Blend has a phase switch, and easy-read bright LED screen for tuning purposes. Presys preamps also include a pre-wired Fishman Sonicore pickup for solder-free, plug-and-play installation. Featuring a unique pivot design for easy access to the battery compartment.
The Tanglewood Heritage is a well-crafted, beautifully designed electro-acoustic guitar that is finished with traditional styling and Tanglewood's sophisticated eye for ornate details. This stunning guitar features a classic herringbone sound-hole rosette, complemented by walnut and herringbone binding to project a high-quality finish. The neck is dressed with slot-diamond fingerboard markers, inlaid in abalone, which adds shimmer to each performance and will glisten majestically against natural light. In addition to its fingerboard inlays, the headstock also features Tanglewood's signature brand logo, inlaid in abalone complemented by its gold kluson style machineheads.
