Key Features
An updated classic. The Radial Workhorse Jensen Twin-Servo 500 Series Preamplifier utilises the famous JE-990 circuit, updated in 500 series format. Two 990 op-amps cascaded in tandem deliver 60dB of gain with twice the bandwidth and less than 1/10th of the distortion of single stage designs. This advanced design also replaces capacitors with twin DV servo feedback circuits to almost eradicate phase distortion. This is all rounded off with the two deliberately oversized Jensen transformers at both input and output stages to maximise frequency response- now extending from 0.5Hz to 150kHz.

Making Deane Jensen proud. The 100% discrete circuitry, along with the cascading op-amp design help minimize noise, especially at mid and low levels. This becomes especially useful when recording tracks with a wide dynamic range such as vocals or orchestral instruments. The unique twin servo topology removes any need for capacitors which vastly reduces phase distortion to the point of being negligible. Given this clean, intuitive design also boasts 60dB of gain and it becomes apparent as to just how remarkable a preamp the Jensen Twin Servo is.
As well as the internal components and design, the Twin-Servo 500 also provides you with a varied amount of inputs to connect external devices such as microphones and guitars. The 500 series preamp produces up to 60dB of gain with a dual-gang potentiometer for level adjustment. The front-panel of the preamp also features a Neutrik Combo connector allowing you to connect either XLR or 1/4'' input. The pramp features 48V phantom power and an activation switch for use with phantom powered enable equipment such as condenser microphones. The preamp also incorporates a subtle high-pass filter that helps to eliminate excessive resonance along with a -10dB pad for added versatility.
