Despite the V52's accessible price, the guitar is constructed with a quality alder body and maple neck with a rosewood fingerboard. The alder body and maple neck lend the V52 a bright tonality with excellent resonance and sustain - perfect for blues, vintage rock, country and more. The iconic single cutaway design gives easy access to the top frets, so you'll have no problem reaching the top notes during solos. This fixed-bridge guitar design is renowned for its stability, making it an ideal workhorse instrument for those who traverse the genres of low-to-medium gain music.
Compared with the V52's vintage looks and tone, the neck features a modern 10'' fingerboard radius which provides excellent balance across the strings, along with the ability to set up a low string action with no risk of the strings "choking" when you play string bends. The slim neck sits easily in the left hand, while the low-profile neck joint and single cutaway assist with top-fret access for high range solos.
Like all Vintage guitars, the V52 features Trev Wilkinson-designed hardware, built on years of industry experience. The Wilkinson WTB bridge features a traditional 3-saddle design - the chunky saddles and fixed steel plate enable a bright tonality and excellent transfer of string vibrations. Each saddle is compensated to remove any problems with intonation, while the Wilkinson Deluxe WJ55S tuners providing quick and stable tuning. This fixed-bridge hardware design is renowned for its rock-solid stability, and makes the V52 ideal for long performances, touring, and practice sessions.
The V52 is loaded with two Wilkinson alnico single-coil humbuckers and wired with single volume/tone controls for simple and direct tonal adjustments. The single coils feature a slightly-hotter-than-vintage voice, with a low/medium gain output; they can create a wide range of hot-rodded traditional tones - perfect for rock, blues, country, and more. The 3-way toggle switch provides a range of sounds, from biting bridge-position tones to mellow neck-position sounds. These pickups make the most of the tonal potential from the V52's open and resonant alder body, with a dynamic sound that brings out all the nuances of your playing.
