Key Features
Product Ref: 105298
The Ibanez AVC9 features a Thermo Aged solid mahogany top which produces a warm and resonant core tonality with a highly nuanced response. The AVC9's solid top produces a richly sweet mid-range with superb levels of volume and is ideal for conveying every nuance of your playing with complexity and depth. The Thermo Aged solid mahogany back with spruce back-bracing helps to add tonal warmth, while its strength contributes to a full-sounding projection with a wide-open sound.
Ibanez uses a special process whereby every piece of wood is heated in a vacuum to release water and decompose any resin contained within the wood. This process results in a light, hard, and stable wood; just like a tonewood that has naturally dried for decades. Thermo-Aged wood delivers a spectacular response and a louder sound. It also creates a full-bodied low-end and a smooth sustain in the treble strings, which are the common characteristics of vintage guitars that have aged naturally through years of playing.
The mahogany neck delivers enhanced warmth and resonance. It features a Soft-V profile which mimics vintage guitars for a comfortable and authentic feel. The evangkol fingerboard provides additional sustain, along with a dark aesthetic reminiscent of rosewood or ebony. The natural open-pore finish has just-enough protection to keep the woods sealed. This allows the AVC9 to resonate to its fullest extent and makes the guitar feel "alive" in your hands. This finish also creates a wonderfully smooth and tactile instrument.
The Ibanez AVC9 features a Grand Concert body shape. This guitar design is reminiscent of classical guitars, which are themselves renowned for their balanced response across the whole frequency range. The full body creates both power, sustain and resonance, meaning you'll be able to play any style of music with an assertive and balanced tone. This makes the AVC9 the ideal instrument for fingerpicking, strumming, modern percussive fingerstyle playing, and for accompanying a vocalist.
The AVC9 features Thermo Aged X bracing which delivers superb volume and an enormous frequency range. X bracing also enhances the top wood's tonal nuance, helping it to respond to every dynamic of your playing.
Unlike standard bridge pins, the AVC9 Artwood Vintage 2018 features advantage bridge pins that are easier to take out and easier to put in. Each pin features a bulb shaped end, which is not only easy to grip but also prevents the pin from being pushed in too far.
