The Vintage VEC501 comes equipped with a solid sitka spruce top that delivers a broad dynamic range and yields a crisp and articulate tone, making the VEC501 versatile to play. Its solid sitka spruce top offers a sparkling high response and a tight, clear attack, perfect for pronounced players. The solid top is attached to rich-sounding mahogany back and sides which produce a resonant distinct warmth. Additionally, used as back and side panels, the mahogany delivers a meaty mid-range, producing punchy, woody tones with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles. This sonically-pleasing mixture of tonewoods is well-known among guitarists as the 'classic' acoustic sound, providing versatility, warmth, and resonance with a powerful response.
With a traditional dreadnought body and cutaway profile, the player is certain to benefit from its full-bodied, commanding voice and easy access to upper frets. The VEC501's dreadnought body offers great volume and projection whilst maintaining overall tonal balance, perfect for a wide range of genres and a loud acoustic performance. The tone produced is able to accommodate numerous genres and playing styles with ease, from rock, pop, indie, folk, roots music, and country, as well as flatpicking, western, and slide techniques. Furthermore, the big, bold dreadnought body offers a comfortable playing experience, although it is better-suited to the player more comfortable with bigger-bodied guitars, and those with a longer reach. For added comfort, the VEC501 also features a venetian cutaway profile that provides easy access to upper frets and more challenging chords with ease.
The Vintage VEC501 comes equipped with a Fishman Isys+ preamp system with mini USB output, perfect for live, studio and rehearsal settings. The preamp features volume, bass and treble rotary controls for enhanced tone shaping. In addition, the preamp also features a phase button that reduces undesirable feedback when plugged in. As well as all this, the Fishman Isys+ also has a built-in tuner that provides precise and easy tuning whether performing acoustically or amplified. Lastly, the player can also benefit from the built-in mini USB output, allowing the player to connect to a USB compatible device for recording purposes, cable included.
Constructed from mahogany, the VEC501's neck produces warmth, resonance and a clear top end, as well as having a nature that allows it to respond superbly to numerous techniques and playing styles with ease. The neck is topped with a lignum rosa fingerboard that adds warmth and clarity to the overall tone whilst providing a smooth, energetic playing experience. For added aesthetic appeal, the fingerboard also has a Vintage 'V' inlaid on the 12th fret that sits along side some simplistic dot inlays.
