The Dean Craig Wayne Boyd features a solid spruce top that offers a broad dynamic range, versatility, and crisp articulation. Spruce is the most commonly used wood for guitar tops as it generates a dynamic tonal pallet and accommodates numerous playing techniques with ease. The wood itself is quite elastic in nature, which resonates well whilst remaining strong, and provides a focused, clear sound of deep lows, warm midi-range, and bright singing highs. The spruce top is contrasted beautifully by the mahogany back and sides via producing a focused, woody, punchy mid-range, thick well-defined tone with plenty of depth and complexity that will please most playing styles. Mahogany also contains distinct character of soft warmth, but is well balanced with a bite of its own. The wood is used a lot in the acoustic world, because it is relatively economical, durable, attractive, easy to work with, and resonant.
The mahogany neck is topped with an ebony fingerboard that provides a very responsive bright, snappy, crisp attack, coupled with a smooth sustain and bright top-end. Dean are providing comfort and durability through their C shaped set neck, which ensures a smooth and comfortable playing experience. The neck is crafted from mahogany because the wood responds greatly to picking, strumming, and various finger techniques with equal ease.
The Dean Craig Wayne Boyd guitar comes equipped with stage ready electronics, making it ideal for the gigging guitarist. Craig Wayne Boyd influenced the design and construction of this Dean electro acoustic and due to his musical story being close to hearts of Dean Guitars. Craig liked to keep the preamp design as simplistic as possible, he didn't want lots of holes cut into the wood, therefore Dean created a sophisticated yet simplistic design that offers one rotary control for volume, and a separate rotary control for tone.
The Dean Craig Wayne Boyd Electro Acoustic is finished in classic black and topped with a truly eye-catching abalone inlay design that will shimmer stunningly when caught by both stage and natural lighting. Due to the guitar's design being based on The Voice winner Craig Wayne Boyd, Dean have sprinkled a whole host of pleasing aesthetics including: star shaped Mother of Pearl inlays, CWB initials for signature Craig Wayne Boyd design, complemented by chrome hardware and Grover style machineheads.
