The Electro Harmonix Deluxe Big Muff Pi pedal expands on the original Big Muff Pi distortion pedal and gives it new mid-controls, noise gate, and extra switching capabilities to provide extended sonic abilities and brand new textures to experiment with. This versatility means you can access every iconic Muff tone- from '71 Triangle, to Sovtek Civil War, to the '73 Ram's Head. The core sound is very close to the classic NYC Big Muff Pi, but the level of adaptability put this Big Muff in a league of its own.
The Deluxe Big Muff Pi features new mid-control boost and cut, alongside a Q-control and frequency control to fully utilise and sweep the mid-range. This provides you with extensive mid-control and can be manipulated even further by the use of an external expression pedal; giving you the ability to create wah-like sweeps controlled via your foot. A new bass-boost switch is available when you need it and is particularly useful when dialling-in more Russian-esque tones with pronounced mid and bass response.
The familiar Sustain control from the original Big Muff Pi allows you to shape your classic distorted tone just like the original. The new attack control enhances your sound by ensuring that the pick transient of your note attack is louder than the sustained signal, providing you with clarity and note definition in your chord and riff playing. This gives your distorted tone clarity and articulation, no matter how heavy the overall sound is; ideal for use when playing with a band to make sure that you are still heard clearly above the thick distorted tone.
