The Ernie Ball 2839 Baritone Slinky, 13-72 is designed for baritone players using A-A or B-B tunings. Its wound strings combine nickel-plated steel with hex-shaped steel cores, delivering a bright, balanced sound across the set. Meanwhile, the plain strings use specially tempered, tin-plated high-carbon steel. This construction gives you a set made specifically with extended-range baritone setups in mind.
Each string also features a small ball end, like those found on standard guitar strings, rather than the larger ball ends typically used for electric bass strings. With gauges of .013, .018p, .030, .044, .056, and .072, you get a six-string set suited to the heavier gauges and lower tunings associated with baritone instruments.
