SLAB has been created to give direct control of Serato Studio in a familiar hardware format that speeds up the creative process. Transport controls use clear panel zoning and circular buttons that echo a CDJ style layout which helps maintain awareness of key functions during busy sessions.
A large central dial supports quick switching between modes such as sampling and parameter editing. This makes it simple to move between sound selection beat programming and arrangement without relying on a trackpad. As soon as the controller is connected Serato Studio unlocks in full which ensures that the complete environment is ready to build songs beats and remixes straight away.
The responsive 29 mm pads are built for sampling chopping triggering and sequencing. They offer velocity sensitivity along with adjustable aftertouch which provides detailed control during dynamic performances. Clear LED bars follow the Serato Studio and Serato Sample interface which helps maintain awareness of pad states at a glance.
Pad FX trigger and step sequencing modes each support a different part of the beat making process so rhythm parts can be created or edited with speed. More than 190 instrument sounds ranging from pads synths and keyboards to percussion and guitars are included which adds melodic range beyond sample based work.
Serato Studio detects project key and BPM automatically so ideas stay aligned during editing. Features such as Keyboard mode Auto Chords and Play in Key help keep performances in tune. Automation controls extend movement across volumes EQ stems and effects. Forty two high quality effects including reverbs delays compressors and flangers support the final shaping of complete arrangements.
