This versatile, open-source Eurorack module is highly innovative, allowing you to turn it into virtually any sort of module you can think of. The Patchblocks module is programmable, meaning using the on-board USB connection you can connect the module to your computer and use the Patchblocks software to program what you want the parameters and connections to do. The compact design also makes it one of the most powerful modules on the market, allowing you to change the way the module works, depending on what you desire at the time. The Patchblocks editor allows you to define its functionality, virtually giving you an all-in-one Eurorack module. This means you can use it as a sequencer, trigger manipulator, oscillator, filter and everything in-between.
Two assignable knobs are accompanied by control voltage inputs, with the inputs featuring voltages of -5v to +5v. When a CV signal is present, the attenuation pots provide level control, but when it is not present the knob performs the function that is assigned to the patch. The module also includes a Gate/Trigger input, which will trigger the two assignable buttons and are overvoltage protected for added convenience. The versatile I/O features left and right channel analog inputs and outputs, with audio I/O that ranges from -10V to +10V.
The sleek, black faceplate takes on the same design as some of the Patchblock range and includes a Reset jack located at the top of the unit. The Patchblocks module also boasts a USB – USB type B connector, which can be used to connect the module to your computer for loading patches and updating the firmware. For digital audio and Mid/Serial Data I/O; you can use a 5-pin IDC connector on the rear of the module to send Left & Right channel digital audio and MIDI data (TX/RX) between modules.
